Meet Shelly

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #52111

I have been working with individuals and families for nearly 20 years, and have been licensed since 2012. I believe in the power of therapy to promote healing and personal growth. I understand starting therapy can feel like a scary endeavor and I am here to provide you support and guidance.

I see clients in person on Tuesday evenings. I utilize the HIPAA compliant version of Zoom for Telehealth, so I can work with clients located anywhere throughout the state of California.

Why Choose Shelly?

My therapy services can help with

Trauma Recovery

My trauma-focused therapy approaches are tailored to help individuals process and recover from difficult experiences, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Addiction

I offer support to individuals in their journey with substance abuse and/or dependence, towards recovery and sobriety.

LGBTQ+

I am comfortable and experienced working with individuals who identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, trans and or queer (LGBTQ+).

Emotional Wellness for Individuals

I specialize in providing therapy to address the unique emotional and mental health needs of individuals. This may include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, overwhelm, numbness, emptiness, people pleasing, perfectionism, body image concerns, disorderly eating, thoughts and/or history of self harm or ending one's life. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques.

Grief & Loss

My therapy sessions are designed to help individuals navigate the complex emotions and challenges of loss, promoting healing and resilience. This could be the death of a loved one, or the end of a romantic relationship or friendship.

Loneliness

Many of the people I work with discuss feeling alone and isolated, particularly those who have lost loved ones. I specialize in helping those whose parents have died, which can be referred to as an ‘adult orphan’. I assist with effective techniques and therapeutic interventions to help individuals cope with and reduce feelings of loneliness.
